Come to the Potters’ Guild of Frederick at 14 S. Market Street on Saturday, August 5 from NOON to 7:00 PM to enjoy delicious farm-fresh ice cream donated by the South Mountain Creamery (@smcdairy) and choose a handcrafted, one of a kind bowl to take home.  Proceeds will be donated to the Frederick Rescue Mission (@frederickrescuemission).​ Tickets will be on sale at the Potters’ Guild of Frederick Gallery beginning July 1 through August 5. The Al Fresco art exhibit is a celebration of the natural world and its power to inspire. This summer group show features regional artists Lissa Abrams, Michael Douglas Jones, Jan Kaufman, Linda Kirvan, Ann Schaefer, Anne Gibson Snyder, Russell Schofield, Tom Ritchie, and Homer Yost, along with associate artists Jane Knighton, Roberta Staat, Leo Ramos, Paul Wilson, and Karen Winston-Levin.

Jasmine Volante has been a creative her entire life, but truly began pursuing the life of an artist during the COVID lockdowns in 2020. Her exhibit “No Need for a Niche” showcases a variety of mediums and subjects, from surreal and realistic acrylic on canvas to illustrated still life in graphite and charcoal. This will be Jasmine’s second show at Cowork Frederick, and we are excited to welcome her back.

THE SOLITARY FIGURE: Drawings & Sculpture by Homer Yost. A beloved sage in the vibrant Frederick, MD art community, Homer Yost has been drawing and sculpting for more than four decades. His work is a love affair with the human form, the classical subject of artists for centuries. Narratives about his personal world and the larger world are conveyed in the subtle gestures or posture of his subject. He describes his work as “figurative humanism,” and captures more than a representational likeness. He captures the essence of their spirit in drawings and sculptures.

If you like variety, don’t miss TAG’s August exhibit. The gallery offers its walls to the public with its annual show, “Le Salon.” More than 120 works by guest and member artists will be on view, so visitors are sure to find plenty to enjoy.
