The Architecture of Transition @ Gaslight Gallery

THE ARCHITECTURE OF TRANSITION: What is going on and what have we become? Join us for the opening reception for Nora Maccoby, 4th generation artist. Surf the galactic waves of creation within giant landscapes of time and space. She uses the Fibonacci Sequence as a keyhole to any subject born of Nature including faces, birds, and intergalactic wormholes. Nora works in oils, and also collaborates with with NOIRFLUX to create interactive light sculpture.

TAG/The Artists Gallery’s Christine Stovall and Chris Eliff are TAG/The Artists Gallery’s featured artists for the month of May. Stovall’s Second Nature explores humans’ uneasy coexistence with the natural world. Today, threats to wildlife and the natural environment have never been greater. Second Nature includes paintings, combined clay and driftwood sculpture, and clay sculptures influenced by our natural surroundings. “I love the natural world and want to protect it,” says Stovall. “Wildlife needs their habitat for basic survival, for food, water, shelter and space. DISTRICT Arts Presents the Opening Reception for “NOSTALGIA”, a Juried Themed Exhibition

May Events

Nostalgia can mean a sentimental longing for the past, usually accompanied with happy remembrances of times gone by. It can also mean a longing accompanied with a sense of loss or missed opportunity. This exhibition will reflect the interpretation of “Nostalgia” in the work of 27 independently juried artists. It is on view from May 3 through May 28 and is free and open to the public.
