March is Youth Art Month! Art openings for the Frederick County Public Schools Student Exhibition, the Faculty Exhibition and the 2023 Bettie Awards Exhibition from 3-5pm. At 2pm join us for the Bettie Awards Grand Prize Winner presentation. Also Creative Outlet from 3-5pm where young artist and their families created art projects inspired by Marisol!

March is National Craft Month! To celebrate, we’re inviting local artists to the shop to do free demos on Saturdays! On Saturday, 3/4, we’ll have local collage artist Lauren Hoffman here. Swing by from 2-4 pm to watch Lauren work and learn more about her creative process.

Enjoy a day of family fun and healthy choices beverages at your local juice bar! There will be tons of board and card games for everyone to enjoy!

Join local artist Michele Duke of MiLou Designs for an opening reception at The Muse. Michele will be discussing her happy and whimsical art beginning at 4:30pm. Michele designs her colorful patterns, producing prints, cards, and even fabric designs, creating pillows, sachets, dishtowels and more!

DISTRICT Arts is pleased to present Laurenee Gauvin’s homage to her Haitian roots. This featured-artist exhibition introduces an emotional look into what home feels like in today’s climate. “Home Away from Home” reflects the journey and the arrival of Gauvin as an exciting and thought-provoking presence on the contemporary art scene. The exhibition runs from March 1 through March 26 and is free and open to the public. A reception with the artist will be held from 5-7 PM on Saturday, March 4.

Karin Birch presents a solo show of new work exploring the nature of time, beauty and groundlessness. This exhibition includes her signature embroidery paintings as well as large paintings and works on paper.

Crossing Over — a Program of Spirituals and Art Exhibit is a multi-art experience to increase awareness in and beyond Frederick County of the history of slavery in Frederick, Maryland. The program includes newly arranged and improvised spirituals.

Celebrating their 30th anniversary, The Comedy Pigs are the region’s longest-running improv troupe! Join them on the first Friday and Saturday of every month for hilarious shows filled with a series of fun short-form improv games. No two shows are ever the same, so be sure to join them each and every month!
