This workshop hosted by the City of Frederick Planning Department/Historic Preservation Commission is for the DIY homeowner who wants to learn how to repair historic windows. Led by an experienced historic preservation carpenter, the workshop will cover: • Basic tools and their use. • Dutchman repairs. • Working with epoxy. • Glazing removal/re-glazing. • Preparation of sash for painting. • Glass cutting and installation. • Weatherstripping. • Value of restoration.

Register now for Cardboard Collagraphs! In this two-day workshop led by David Modler, you will build a cardboard printing matrix for limited-edition printmaking. The focus will be on the do-it-yourself aesthetic and process, as well as exploring ways to re-imagine and repurpose often-discarded materials for creative practices and making multilayered limited-edition prints. In this mini workshop we will all design and make a pair of earrings and enjoy light refreshments and snacks. I will be there to guide every step of the way. The Stitches Through Time exhibit explores one story of women’s work, interpreting the history of textile production up to the 1950s. It features a beautiful selection of hand-sewn quilts and clothes from the 1800s; equipment, advertisements, photos, and ephemera from the factory era; and selections of mid-20th century clothing by Claire McCardell that reflect the department store culture that emerged after World War II. 10 wedding dresses spanning 100 years showcase the themes in our story. Museum Hours: Wednesday through Saturday, 10am-4pm

  Downtown Frederick Partnership, working in collaboration with the AARCH Society, is in the process of commissioning a new signature artwork for Seventh Street Fountain Park as part of the park restoration project. The selected artist, Rodney Carroll, is interested in hearing stories about your connection to the park and Frederick as inspiration for the design. The sculpture will become a beacon, welcoming all — connecting us across cultures and time – past, present and future. Please join us to contribute your stories. Parking available on-street and also at Mountain City Elks Club lot on Gaither’s Alley.

Mike Legenzov always wanted to be an artist, but life and work got in the way. He started painting seriously about 15 years ago and found that he is inspired by the beauty in landscapes. Working from his or friends’ photographs, he finds that they are just the starting point for his paintings and uses artistic license and imagination in the creation of his artwork. His goal is to create something that pleases his eye. First Saturday 1-7pm, Show runs through March 26, Sat-Sun 1-5pm
