Johnny Memphis is an old fashioned painter and busker living in the afterglow of the “60s. Enjoy his art exhibition and guitar licks. Enjoy Memphis style blues played by Johnny and December First Saturday, and complimentary hot cocoa on December Second Saturday. At Gaslight Gallery.

Join us from 2-4 pm on December First Saturday for an opening reception with our featured artist, Lynn Day Brown! Lynn is a local artist who specializes in whimsical ceramic sculptures.

TAG/The Artists Gallery will celebrate the holiday season with an exhibit and pop-up craft shop. Affordable art and one-of-a kind crafts will be featured in December’s show, Holiday Magic. In addition to paintings, drawings, sculptures, pottery, and mixed media projects, TAG artists have been busy creating handmade ornaments, art puzzles, cards, and more. You can meet the artists and enjoy refreshments and live jazz from 5 to 8 on December 3 during the opening reception.

The Frederick Arts Council is exploring entering into an agreement to transform the former BB&T bank building at 1 N. Market Street into an artist studios complex. The building has a total of 33 available individual studios, which would be rented out to local artists at variable rates depending on studio amenities. The potential studios building also offers community gathering spaces, an elevator, utility sinks on each floor, and exhibition space for resident artists. In this French salon-inspired artist market and showcase, highlighted is affordable artwork from local artists for sale under $200. The work in this exhibition ranges from traditional mediums such as plein air paintings and ceramic sculptures to new mediums including digital art prints and painted skateboards. Visitors are invited to buy work directly off of the walls. All proceeds are granted to the artist.
