DISTRICT Arts is pleased to present the paintings of artist Delna Dastur in a featured artist exhibition that focuses on Nature and its ebullience, bringing us joy and sanity during difficult times. In addition to a career as a professional artist, Delna teaches a class entitled “Exploring Abstraction” for the Smithsonian Institution and the Art League, Alexandria. First Saturday 11-7 PM, Exhibit runs through 10/2.

Each artist has a unique way of approaching a new piece of art. Inspiration can come from a thought, an object, a landscape, a figure, or the first mark made on a surface. The autumn group show at Gallery 322, titled “Sketchbooks”, provides a window into the process of artmaking. Gallery 322 showcases the process of creating art with an exhibit that includes sketches, photos, and written explanations as well as the artists’ work.
