Kianna (Key-Anne-Uh) Nobles is a photographer who grew up in a small town and did everything right, graduating one year early from high school, attaining her Bachelor of Science in Sociology, and even getting married and settling down. Rebecca Jackson has been painting in oils for 27 years with a passion for “Nature’s Beauty of Flowers.” From Sunflowers to Pink Coneflowers and Magnolias to Waterlilies, she is always excited to see Spring as flowers begin to blossom. Flowers bring happiness and put a smile on a face. Every flower is a soul blossoming in Nature. Returning for one more show! Local artist Julie Maynard’s “Tell Me Whom You Haunt” original art exhibit and reception. Live music by American roots based singer-songwriter Mike Elosh. Free and open to the public.

Sarah Higgins is June’s featured artist at TAG/The Artists Gallery. Her show, “Between the Lines” features an exploration of color and texture, separated by black lines. “The lines are random and spontaneous but then the problem solving (and fun) begins,” says Higgins. “Shapes are formed, texture is added and color choices are made. I began introducing texture to the paintings to break up the color and to add dimension to the otherwise flat panel. NOMA artists have each invited an artist to exhibit with us in this bold and powerful group exhibition. 41 regional artists, working in a wide variety of medium and styles will be on view through July. Artists’ talk :July 21 at 7-8:30. Gallery Hours: Friday and Saturday 12-8 pm and Sunday 12-4 pm.

The Frederick Arts Council announces a new exhibition featuring the work of DC artist Alyssa Imes on view at FAC’s Art Center at 5 E 2nd St, Frederick, MD 21701. The art installation, “Unstructured Rise,” features a variety of  materials including textiles and cast iron that highlight Alyssa’s approach to creating a multi-media experience for her viewers. Imes’ work is about personal connections and social interactions that open new doors and which create a network of emotional relationships. Imes’ focus is to spread awareness of growth after trauma. “Unstructured Rise” serves as a retrospective of Imes’ work as an artist. […]
