Meet the artist of “Shape & Structure” @ NOMA Gallery

August Events

“Meet the Artist” August First Saturday, 8/7, from 5-8pm – James Germaux will be at the gallery as he kicks off his newest work experimenting with tools and materials such as palette knives, spray paint, markers, etc. in his solo show “Shape & Structure.” His work will be on view August 6-29. Join Frederick Arts Council for a virtual conversation with Baltimore-based artist Lisa Dillin and Danielle O’Steen, Curator at The Kreeger Museum in Washington D.C., on Friday August 6th at 5 pm. Dillin currently has a new show, entitled “Sorry We Missed You,” on view at Frederick Arts Council’s 5 E. 2nd Street Art Center. “Sorry We Missed You” makes tangible the emotional quality of the sustained isolation that characterizes this time. Just Passing Through: A Travelers Guide to Civil War Frederick

Take a Guided Civil War Tour Join Museum guide Michael Mahr on a 1-hour guided walking tour of Downtown Frederick on Saturday, August 7, at 11:00am focused on what it was like to visit Frederick during the Civil War. The walking tour is limited to 20 participants, and we request that you practice social distancing. Masks are no longer required if vaccinated. Where is Nevada’s favorite Downtown Spot? Nevada is a 2 year old black labrador retriever born and raised by Hero Dogs, Inc who provides service dogs for military and first responders. She is a trained Facility Dog and works in schools with her School Resource Officer Handler, SGT Rebecca Carrado.
