Meet the Artists: Andrea McCluskey and Lisa Aerianna Tayerle These two printmakers kick of their two person exhibition on view for the month of July. Andrea addresses the day to day changing internal landscape of weathering the pandemic. Lisa Aerianna Tayerle tells stories through gnarled roots, windswept rocks and weathered wood. TAG/The Artists Gallery is pleased to announce the featured artists for July: Cathy Wilkin and Jan McIntyre-Creager They have been exploring different subjects, media, and styles with exciting results! Cathy Wilkin switched directions for her intriguing new exhibit, “Hindsight 2020.” She traded her intricate collages for acrylic paintings. At first glance, the interiors in her new work appear calm, but unsettling elements quickly reveal themselves. Wilkin calls the eight works in this series her “COVID paintings” and says they reflect her disconnect in 2020. True Documented Stories of the Paranormal with “Maryland’s Oldest Operating Ghost Tour!” Journey through Frederick’s interesting and sometimes creepy past. Celebrating 21 years of operation! All “Ghost Tours” begin in front of Brewer’s Alley Restaurant and Brewery, 124 N Market St, and last about 90 minutes. *Not recommended for younger children.

Pecan Pie day is July 11, stop by a day early for a slice to celebrate Pecan Pie, almost as American as Apple Pie. Using historic recipe books, we’re making pecan pies! Come in and give them a taste test. Which book will have the better pie? (There will also be a separately baked faux “pecan” pie for those with nut allergies who want to participate).  

Fiber Crafts Hands On Series Heritage Frederick wants to introduce our new program series about wool and cotton. Our Fiber Crafts Hands-on Series is a four session series starting with raw cotton/wool and ending with a loom woven/knitted/crocheted object that you’ve had a hand in from start to finish. Session 1: July 10: What is yarn/thread? Session 2: July 24: How is yarn/thread made? Session 3: August 7: How do you dye yarn? Session 4: August 21: What can you make with yarn?
