The 6000 Circles Project @ The Muse

April Events

For The Muse’s April featured artist exhibit, they are doing something a little different and featuring the work of 5 local artists as part of the international 6000 Circles Project. For the exhibit, artists Courtney Prahl, Laura Stang, Laura Silberman, Sumner Crenshaw and Whitney Dahlberg came together. They’ll be hosting an opening reception for the exhibit on Saturday, April 6, from 2-4 pm. Swing by to check out the show and chat with these talented ladies!

Creative Outlet @ The Delaplaine

April Events

Kids and adults are invited to drop-in at The Delaplaine Arts Center and get creative together on art activities at family tables! Each session features a themed activity. Artist, neuroscientist, and author of Baby Senses, Dr. Jaya Viswanathan will lead us in scientific illustration exercises in this special Creative Outlet event. $2 per participant. Frederick Artists Night @ Cowork Frederick

April Events

As part of Cowork Frederick’s Artists Night, Michael Gresalfi will be presenting his 12 painting series “Our Changing Planet” as well as a video of the same name. He will be joined by Jordan Holt of Falling Squares to share the winners of the Earth Month Film competition. Michael uses melted wax, known as ‘encaustic medium’ as well as glass paint, oils and acrylics on a variety of surfaces including canvas, fiberboard, poster board, wood, and mirrors. His style moves between the semi-realism, to more expressionistic, and abstract styles.

The Circus Comes to TAG

April Events

Ladies and gentlemen, step right up as featured artist, Christopher Madden, presents his provocative new exhibit, Circus Peanut. Do you remember that orange supposedly banana-flavored, peanut-shaped candy? The layout of Madden’s solo exhibit suggests a vintage circus sideshow. The artist aims to present more than an arrangement of paintings on gallery walls. He wants the viewer to experience ideas, along with a sense of absurdist theatricality.

Iterations: Archetypes and Continuum @ NOMA Gallery

This exhibit explores the nexus between imagery both old and new as explored by Judith Kornett, as well as her use of personal archetypes in their various iterations throughout her personal artistic continuum. Judith Kornett will have a solo exhibition that will run from April 5-28, 2024. The reception will be First Saturday, April 6, from 5-8pm. They’re hosting a public session at the Evangelical Reform United Church of Christ (15 W Church St) to make shirts for the Clothesline Project; t-shirts and art supplies will be provided!
