Open Studios @ Frederick Arts Council

March Events

Spend March First Saturday browsing art at Frederick Arts Council’s Hurwitz Gallery touring 25 individual Artist Studios. On the First Saturday of each month, visitors are invited to tour the studios to see artists at work and engage with 3 floors of art. Light of Day @ Gallery 322

March Events

With the anticipation of spring, four women artists are brought together in the exhibition, “Light Of Day”, at Gallery 322. For the month of March, painters Carol Cowie, Jane Knighton, Karen Winston-Levin, and Deborah Lovelace Richardson will be showing their latest works. All of the landscapes, still life, and figure paintings embrace the style of contemporary realism by capturing the play of light on the natural world.

Join The Delaplaine for the announcement of the 2024 Bettie Awards Grand Prize Winner and celebrate the exhibiting artists. Bettie Delaplaine was a lifelong supporter of the arts in Frederick County, Maryland. Her strong belief in the importance of the arts in our community, and the importance of supporting young emerging artists, inspired The Delaplaine Arts Center to create the Elizabeth Barker Delaplaine Award for Young Artists–affectionately known as the Bettie Awards–in her honor. The award program is an annual event run in March, nationally recognized as Youth Art Month.

Frederick Artists Night: Michelle Ramos

Show your support for local artists by attending this free ONE NIGHT ONLY exhibit at Cowork Frederick! Michelle Ramos is a self taught artist who got in touch with her artistic nature as a way to deal with her bipolar disorder. Her artistic journey is relatively young, but she has come a long way in the short time she has been painting. Described as “beautiful chaos,” Michelle’s art features abstract acrylic paintings on canvas and is a visual expression of the internal turmoil she experiences. All work is for sale and proceeds go to the artist. Open to the public.
