Sailing Through the Winter Solstice by Color on the Creek Sailing Through The Winter Solstice begins in November each year, when a number of boats, transformed through the creative minds of many Frederick friends, set sail on the Creek. The fleet has grown from one boat the first year to 28 sailing boats and 2 land-locked boats in the 2023-24 season. The boats are anchored in Carroll Creek, between Market Street and Carroll Street. Cranksgiving is a food drive on two wheels. It’s part bike ride, part food drive, part scavenger hunt, and part party. The 2022 Cranksgiving ride will take place on Saturday, November 18th!
