Debby Brisker Burk is a mixed media painter who has been creating artwork since childhood. Her early visits to D.C. museums had a profound impact on her artistic journey. Brisker Burk says, “I paint to be engaged in the river of life, the smooth and the turbulent. For me, it is all about the adventure and the process.” The exhibition runs from November 1 through November 26 and is free and open to the public. A reception will be held from 5-7 PM on November 4.

Visit the Frederick Arts Council’s Gallery located at 1 N Market Street in the heart of Downtown Frederick between 1-4pm during First Saturday, November 4th, for a meet-and-greet with artist Esperanza Alzona as she introduces her new exhibition, Lamentation. Two member artists, Linda Kirvan and Anne Gibson Snyder display artwork completed out of doors with easels arranged to give both painters a similar view of the landscape. The finished paintings, though created in the same location represent each artist’s own working style. The paintings may have a different focus, color palette and technique of laying paint on canvas.

We invite you to visit our location at the Y Arts building as we celebrate our grand opening in Frederick. From 4:00-6:00 children can participate in our “petting zoo” where they can try out playing a violin, cello, guitar or piano. Three to six year old children can sample on of our Early Childhood Music classes. After 6pm, adults can participate in an introduction to guitar class and hear a recital featuring Peabody Preparatory students and faculty.
